8 Months!

8 months, 8 months, 8 months!!!  I keep thinking if I say it over and over I will believe it.  It is so crazy that I am the mama of an 8 month old, but I LOVE it!  How could you not love this face?

Gracie is getting so big!  As i am writing she is pulling herself up on the chair I am sitting in, I can't believe how much she can do!  She loves when we hold her fingers and she can walk around.  She is not content to sit and play anymore, she wants to move!  The problem is, she hasn't really figured out how to do more then scoot in a circle.  I am guessing she will figure out how to crawl in the next few weeks though.  She loves to be next to the couch, her play mat, a chair, or anything she can pull herself up on.

She is very vocal and lets us know how she is feeling with feeling.  I love listening to her babble and figure out her voice.

As you can see from the pictures above, Gracie will grab anything that is within her reach! Since we haven't been to the doctor this month I don't know how much she weighs or her height, but i do know she is getting harder to lug around!!

I couldn't get a good picture of her laying down, so I finally let her sit up and got a few good ones.

Gracie is still my little buddy and likes to be right in the action no matter what is going on.  Her new favorite is the walker!

within the last week or so she figured out how to go forward instead of just backwards.  We have had to hide the garbage can because she would head straight for it EVERY time! Gracie's other favorite is to sit in the laundry basket while I do laundry, get dressed, or just for fun!

I hope that next month I can report that we have a crawler.  Right now all she does is back herself up under the couch!

February

February was full of fun at our house!  We started the month off by getting to go stay with Carlz while my Mom and Dad went to see Kelsey and new baby Drew in Washington.  Drew was born on January 29.  We only got to stay one night, but we had fun watching basketball, eating skookies and watching a movie.  We LOVE aunt Carlie!!  The next day we went to Lehi to help Joe on his bathroom.  I love that Kaleb is so handy and likes to go help family with their projects, he is such a good guy!  The next day was the Super Bowl!  Kaleb was SO excited since his team was in the big game!  He had been waiting for weeks and we had a big party planned at Joe's house. The entire Fail family was dressed in Broncos gear and we were going to take a picture, but the game didn't go so well and no one was in the mood for pictures:)  Kaleb's mom did snap a few though.

Kaleb's birthday was the day after the Super Bowl, so his parents bought him a big beautiful cake and we all sang to him.  He said all he wanted for his birthday was for the Bronco's to win….oops!

On Kaleb's real birthday we went out with our little family.  We went to dinner at Wingers and went shopping to find Kaleb a new hoodie.  When we came home we invited some friends over for cake and ice cream.  Happy 25th Kaleb!!

Valentines is one of my favorite holidays.  I love celebrating love and the people I love!  I once read a blog where she made valentines a family holiday and I loved the idea.  We started our family valentine traditions this year.  We were going to help Kaleb's parents on Valentines, so we did our Valentines dinner the night before.

For our candlelight dinner I made cafe rio salads and cheese cake.  Kaleb got me the beautiful flower on the table.  When I was growing up my mom always had a big valentine breakfast with pink pancakes.  I carried on that tradition minus the pink pancakes, Kaleb likes waffles better.

We got Gracie toothbrushes for her present.  She liked the box we put them in better then her present, oh well!

The same weekend as Valentines we went to Wasatch state park with Emily, Bri, Mom, Dad, and Carlie.  It was a super quick trip since we had to leave early the next morning, but we had fun having dinner, playing games and just being together.

As I have mentioned, Gracie isn't the best sleeper, so She ended up sleeping with us in our bed most of the night.  I slept great with my hubby and baby within reach, Kaleb however said he spent most of the night awake :(

We are so glad my daddy has such great hook ups, it was such a fun little get away with everyone!

Tell me these pictures don't just make you smile:)

The banana wasn't the biggest hit!

The rest of the month was full of every day fun.  I have an apple for breakfast almost every morning and Gracie just HAS to have a piece to suck on.  It works out for both of us since she will be entertained for about 30 minutes!

Gracie has decided that moving does sound pretty fun, but does't want to be on her belly long enough to figure out how to crawl, so she scoots and rolls.  Its pretty adorable and fun to watch.

Since Gracie is such a good sitter, we decided to put her in the big girl bath tub.  GREAT decision!  She loves to splash and play and scoot around in the water.  Such a little water girl, I can't wait to take her swimming!

Our days at home are pretty busy with nap times, eating, getting dressed, reading books, etc.  Eating has been hard since she wants to get her hands on EVERYTHING!  We make quite a mess every time we eat!

The biggest part of the month came on February 28 when Kaleb bought his TRUCK!  Man he is excited!  I am excited for all the leverage I got:)  He promised to shave his beard, not drink as much pop, and would suck up to me for 18 years:)

Oh what fun February has been!
