summer fun

Confession:  I haven't taken a SINGLE picture with my personal camera since Gracie's birthday, which was in July.  Sad.  I have however taken quite a few on my phone.  I usually have my phone with me and it seems like by the time I get my camera the moment is gone, so I have just been taking pictures with my phone instead.  I know I will end up regretting it since the quality is not as good, but hey, what do you do.  I guess Kaleb will have to get me a phone with a good camera on it, problem solved!

The last few days have me reminiscing about summer and warm weather.  It has been rainy, chilly, and very fallish.  Don't get me wrong, I'm loving it, but there are advantages to the warm weather.  Like playing in the pool for instance.

Kaleb's mom was so nice and gave this little pool to Gracie.  We spent many afternoons in the backyard splashing and playing!  It was a great way to cool off!

We also loved getting up and going to the park in the morning before it got too unbearably hot.

When we first started our park adventures Gracie would spend the WHOLE time in the swing and I would force her to go down the slide once.  Now we spend 90% of our time in the swing and she will venture down the slide 1 or 2 times by HERSELF, which is a big deal!  The hardest part of the park is walking there and back, Gracie doesn't have much patience with her stroller.

Gracie is just over 14 months and she is a keeper!  She is sleeping through the night (HALLELUJAH) and still, as always, struggles with naps.  She LOVES grapes and sometimes that is all she will eat for the entire day!  She loves her whole milk and is such a drinker!   She is a talker and babbles all day long.  She says mom, beep beep, shoe (favorite), and ba ba (which we think means binki).  She is a very social child and loves to play with Clay.  Ever time we head outside she beelines straight for his house, they are the cutest ever!

Gracie has learned the art of fit throwing and is getting very good at it!  She hates it when she is told no and will immediately throws herself on the ground and roll around.  My favorite is when she stops crying and looks up to make sure we are watching her and then will continue on.  She also adores shoes and we spend the entire day switching shoes.  Recently she has started bringing Kaleb and I our shoes and will sit at our feet and say SHOE SHOE SHOE until we put them on.  She is a true girly girl and also loves clothes.  She can open her drawers by herself and will pull out clothes and insist that I put them on.

As I was scrolling through my phone I noticed that I had a lot of pictures of Gracie sleeping.  I know, I know, it kinda sounds creepy!  But seriously putting that child to bed is the biggest fight everyday!  I take pictures because I feel so accomplished!

A couple highlights of our late summer were going to lagoon, Sarah's farewell, the state fair, & melon days.

As December quickly gets closer and closer I am starting to freak out a little!  I feel like Gracie takes so much one on one attention I just can't figure out how I can add another kiddo into the mix.  I LOVE being a mom, but it is by far the hardest thing I have ever done!  When I get in these stressed out moods I have been trying to appreciate the little things, and my goodness I have so much to be grateful for!  Here are a few moments when I get hit with what a good life I have.

I have been trying to get videos to upload and never seem to be successful.  I did at least get something to show up this time.  Hopefully they work!
